I have some events coming up like Alex's piano recital that do not really require me to bake but I would still like to take along something festive and fun. I stumbled upon this recipe (if you can even call it that) from Taste of Home. They are dressed up Oreo's. You purchase your favorite Oreo flavor, Wilton Candy Melts and a Holiday Mix of Sprinkles. You melt the candy coating in the microwave stirring until smooth. Spread it over the cookie top and decorate immediately. In about 15 minutes time I made a whole package of Oreo's and the candy coating set just as fast. I only used the Vanilla flavored (white) Candy Melts tonight but I also purchased a package of Chocolate Candy Melts. You could mix the two colors up for variety. The sprinkles I purchased are also by Wilton and there are 6 different sprinkle shapes in the container of Holiday Sprinkles. I used just three of the six in the container (Holiday Confetti, Holiday Nonpareils and Holiday Jimmies). These cookies could be made any time of year with seasonal sprinkles like for Valentines or Easter. You are really only limited by your Melts, Sprinkles and a little imagination.
