A Gift From the Heart

I wanted to make a gift for my friend Flensea who I went to high school with in Kettle Fall's in the early 80's. I do not sew very often but I decided to try my hand at making her a gift from the heart. The picture of us is from one of those photo booths that you get four pictures from. As I recall we only had enough money for one strip of pictures so she kept two and I kept two. I wonder if she still has her two pictures?

I scanned the tiny picture into the computer and enlarged it significantly. The picture was then copied on to Photo Fabric Paper. I made some pillows for family a couple of years ago but this one is unique because of the ribbon around the edges of the pillow. It was pretty time consuming to put together because of all of the ribbon. I didn't make any yoyo's for this pillow but I did throw on a few buttons. I did mean for this to be a Christmas gift but I may just get it into the mail to her in time for St. Patrick's day.

I think the funniest thing about the pillow is the earrings I am wearing in the picture. You just can't get away from the fact that they were giant triangles. As I recall they were a bright aqua in color. Oh, how the 80's pushed the limits of tasteful fashion. I wonder what I did with those pink leg warmers. They may just be back in style by now.
